Q: What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

A: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground-based martial art. It focuses on taking your opponent to the ground where you can control them using principles of leverage, pressure and timing. The goal is to control your opponent enough to secure a dominant position and submit them using a variety of joint locks and chokes.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Our gym is in Avia Close, Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, HP3 9TH. We have a dedicated car park and there are other car parks nearby. See details here.

Q: What should I wear?

​

A: A freshly laundered gi (training uniform) will be supplied to you for free for your trial classes. If you want to buy your own gi, we can recommend suitable retailers and also have low cost options for sale in the gym. For no gi classes, you need to wear shorts and t-shirt for your trial class, or similar clothing.
